Meet Henry Valenzuela
Henry Valenzuela is Yuma’s City Councilmember-Elect. Born and raised in Yuma, he understands the challenges and opportunities facing the community he has always called home.
Henry brings more than 20 years of law enforcement service, experience as an Army Combat Engineer who achieved the rank of Master Sergeant, and a record of civic involvement. His family, faith, and commitment to service continue to guide his work.
He is focused on public safety, economic growth and local business, and strong opportunities for Yuma’s youth.

Henry's Journey
Yuma Roots
Henry's family has been in Yuma for at least three generations on his father's side, and his mother emigrated from Mexico to Yuma as a child.
Early Years - Born & Raised in Yuma
Henry grew up in Yuma, attended Woodard Junior High School and Yuma High School, played sports, participated in activities, and built relationships that have lasted a lifetime.
Strong Foundations - Family and Faith
Henry has been married to ReAnnon for over 27 years, and together they raised four strong children and now enjoy twin grandsons.
Career - Public Safety
Built a successful career in law enforcement, retiring after more than 20 years of dedicated service to the community.
Military - Service, Courage, and Honor
Served as an Army Combat Engineer, achieved the rank of Master Sergeant, and completed multiple overseas and stateside deployments.
Community - Civic Leadership
Took leadership roles in local organizations and professional settings and advocated for families and businesses in Yuma.
2026 - Elected to Yuma City Council
Elected to serve on the Yuma City Council, bringing experience and community-focused leadership to local government.
